With the many fine illustrations of musical instruments, etc.  Stéphen-Charles Chauvet (1885 to 1950) known as Dr Stéphen-Chauvet, a French physician, writer and collector of ethnographic art, began his collection of African and Oceanic art following the First World War.  He wrote several important works on the art of indigenous peoples of these areas.  A very nice copy in contemporary binder’s cloth backed marbled boards with the original front wrapper bound-in.
