Bilder aus Deutsch Ost Afrika. (so labelled on upper board). An oblong Cr.folio album of 40 leaves containing 85 photographs. 49 of the photographs are 23 x 27 cm. and 36 are 17 x 12 cm.

The album would appear to have date from around 1900. The photographs show scenes in Dar es Salaam, village scenes, the railway, Manyoni and Tabora stations, Islamic ruins, German askaris, and various good portraits. Stamped with the title in gilt on the upper board with two gilt and black art nouveau designs, a very nice copy in a maroon cloth.
