The frontispiece shows Leonard Parkinson, a Captain of the Maroons, taken from the life. Contemporary speckled calf with marbled endpapers, from the Somerville House library in their binding, with the armorial bookplate of Sir Marcus Somerville (d. 1831), the armorial bookplate of his son Lord Athlumney, William Meredyth Somerville, first Baron Athlumney (1802-1873), liberal politician, and armorial bookplate of Peter Garnett Agnew (1900-1990) Royal naval Commander and politician; stain to outer edge of frontispiece and slightly onto title, joints weak, a very nice copy.
